Blissed Out In Smoothie Heaven

The Wonders of Worthing Smoothies

I took Duke out for a wander on Saturday and popped by the local cafe, the most excellent Parklife in Worthing for a quick drink (this place is perfect if you like healthy smoothies).

Sitting there in a busy little cafe hanging out with my boy and I saw that he was completely oblivious to what I was telling him which was bound to be amazingly interesting. Instead, he was in a complete state of being “Blissed Out” as we used to call it. A trance-like state of happiness that you don’t get to see very often, let alone experience unless you are on some very dodgy drugs. His condition came from a mush of strawberry and melons in a plastic cup with a curly straw.

There he was, eyes closed ignoring the world and concentrating on the moment. So I did what any dad of my generation would do – pulled out my phone and snapped away.

  1. The sight of the kids really enjoying something is a special one for sure. Can’t remember the last time I enjoyed something to drink or eat that much.

As a massive foodie I understand this state well. Brilliantly captured on camera 🙂

This is a well known phenomenon to happen. I find upmost bliss when my children find their happy food place as it automatically allows me to enter a moment of peace. Fantastic photo to top it off!

  4. What a great moment you captured. That’s what I look like while enjoying a small batch bourbon…

  5. I know the look and the feeling as well. My sons do it when they get ice cream, and I seem to follow suit when given good mac and cheese, bacon, or scotch…lol. Great photo!
